The Story Behind Sisters On Country:

Sisters On Country tells the story of two sisters playing on country and developing an unbreakable bond. The story shows the Blue Lake, originally a volcano next to Mount Shank. The side panels show the sisters playing together and traveling throughout country where they make their own adventures. In the middle of the piece depicts the sisters family where they come back to, and the upper of the piece shows their ancestors watching them and providing guidance.

Aboriginal Artist

My Aboriginal roots originate from Ceduna, from my grandmother and I was born in Boandik country.  Ceduna tribes include Wirangu, Mirning, Kokatha and Pitjantjatjara tribes. I now know that my language group is Wirangu, and that my grandmother may have also been from the Kokatha tribe. I am very passionate about my cultural heritage. I grew up with many stories around using natural resources and remedies where possible. some stories were around bush medicine and other stories related to the land, animals and spirits. I love painting with bright colours and blending colours together to create different kinds of shades, gradients and patterns within a painting, but it depends on what I feel like painting at the time.- Bianka
